How to create a Christmas collage wish list?

Christmas collage wish list and figurinesLove, fellowship and togetherness are the key ingredients that make the Christmas season very exclusive and fun family activities add to the Christmas spirit.

To create a Christmas collage wish list with your child serves the dual purpose of doing a fun activity with him or her as well as getting to know what he or she wants for a Christmas gift. If the wish list project goes well then you can delight friends and relatives during the holidays with your own lovely greeting card creations made up of cut up pictures and pasted on the cards by the kids. Here’s a step by step helpline to guide you along. Have fun.

A guideline

  1. Discuss with your child the idea of creating a collage containing pictures of all the things that he/ she wants as gifts for Christmas. Make it clear to the child that although the collage would have a lot of pictures they would not get everything on it, only those that Santa decided to gift.
  2. Let your child have a large white sheet (construction paper would do fine), a pair of child friendly scissors, some glue, sketch pens or crayons and catalogs of stores from which your child is likely to select gifts.
  3. Help him/ her cut pictures out and paste them on the paper along with the contact number or e-mail id of the concerned store.
  4. Make a list of the contact numbers and the e-mail ids and keep one for yourself (without letting the child know) and let your child have the copy that would be sent to Santa.
  5. Help the child write a letter to Santa to send along with the wish list and have him/ her address it to Santa Claus, North Pole.

Do’s

  • Keep duplicate copies of the catalogs that were used for cutting up the pictures so that in case there are some addresses or contact numbers missing from the original list, you know where to find them.

Don’ts

  • Don’t let the child get too adventurous with the pair of scissors, let him/ her experiment but keep a wary eye on the proceedings. Best way to do it is to become a part of the whole process; convert it into a fun project.
