How to buy Lego Toys for a child
To buy Lego Toys for a child is an excellent idea because Lego must be the most popular kind of educational toy that has found appeal with children throughout the world. This is because Lego comes in many varieties with many different pieces which you can use to build anything you can think of. You can build buildings, cars, planes, ships, space-stations and other innumerable things. In fact you also have Lego people which become a part of Lego scenery. Lego toys have now been around for over 50 years and have found popularity with people of all ages. Here are some guidelines to help you select the right kind of Lego, one that is appropriate for your child.
A few suggestions
- First and foremost, fix a budget. There is almost no limit to what you can spend on a new Lego set (they cost as little as $2 for a 10 piece set to more than $200 for the Lego Robotics Invention System) so calculate what price range you are willing to pay and try to consider only those sets that fall within that price range.
- Lego can make a great gift for anybody because it is fun and really challenges our creativity and thinking skills. Nowadays there are thousands of varieties of Lego and new kinds are being added every few days but a classic Lego set is still the favorite of die hard Lego fans. It includes traditional Lego bricks plus fun and imaginative special pieces so kids can build and create almost anything.
- Do not make up your mind in a hurry. Check the traditional stores (Toys-R-Us, Media Play, Target, Wal-Mart etc) and also the net for the best bargains. Compare the prices as well as the products at both places before making the final decision.
Do’s
- If you are buying the product online, remember to order at least three weeks in advance to allow for delivery time.
Don’ts
- Don’t buy Lego for an adult unless and until you are sure of their interest in building blocks.

Legos are a great gift.
Tip:
Don’t buy an ant farm as a Christmas gift; it takes four to five months to receive your ants. My experience with Uncle Milton’s Ant Farm.
