The Secret to Hiding Christmas Presents
Let’s take a look at how you can hide gifts in order to make Christmas filled with surprises for everyone.
Nothing is more frustrating than buying a nice Christmas present for someone, only to have it discovered by them before Christmas. Children are especially guilty of ‘present hunting’ but there are adults who look for their Christmas presents, too.
First wrap the gifts when the children are asleep or at school. This makes certain they don’t know that presents exist and won’t be on the lookout for them. Place the presents inside plain paper or plastic bags so they won’t attract the attention of anyone looking for something festive-looking.
If you’re hiding children’s gifts, pick areas that the children aren’t allowed like the attic or the basement. Hide them in the trunk of the car or somewhere in the garage where the children don’t have access. Hide them behind something large, such as the water heater or furnace. Keep them a distance away from these items as they are warm.
Use newspapers or towels to cover the gifts. This hides the wrapping paper so the children can’t see it. Select a spot on a high shelf, such as in a linen closet or other closet. Think about storing them under the kitchen or bathroom sink, where children rarely go. (Since when have children volunteered to do the dishes).
If the gift is small, hide it in a purse, briefcase or a small plastic bag. Then, hang it inside a closet in a spare bedroom or a closet that isn’t used very much. You can also leave gifts at a neighbors or at work until it is closer to the holidays. Swapping gifts with neighbors confuses two households and really keeps the gifts away.
Thanks for the great tips. I remember when I was a kid and tried hard to look for the presents when my parents weren’t home and then slightly “tear” it a little so I can get a sneak peek Kids are so sneaky these days, so you want to considerate of that.

The funny thing about present peeking is that as soon as you peek, you start to wish you didn’t. Or at least that is how I felt, even as a kid. Once you know your present, it is anticlamatic. Part of the fun is in the anticipation!

its not anticlimatic if you don’t actually peek… only reason i’m on here is to figure out where my parents hid mine what better place to look then in the minds of an adult?
