Dress up your Christmas gift of wine
Giving someone a bottle of wine for Christmas is a very common gift, but there is no need to just hand them the bottle with a bow on it. Here are a few ideas for wine bottle presentation to make the gift more special.
Giving someone their favorite bottle of wine for Christmas has been a tradition in many families for years. However, giving someone the bottle as a Christmas present just wrapped with a bow is…well…boring. If you want to give someone a bottle of wine for Christmas, give it to them with some pizzazz. Plus, if you’ve ever tried wrapping a bottle of wine in Christmas paper that is not in a box, then you know that it’s not an easy feat. Presenting your Christmas gift in a fanciful and fun way makes your present that much better.
Red and green wrap
One of the easiest ways to wrap your bottle of wine is by purchasing a holiday gift bag. Add some red and green tissue paper – and maybe a nice hunk of cheese appropriate for the type of wine you are giving – and you have a neatly wrapped present. Gift bags can be purchased at just about any store from grocery stores to card stores to ‘dollar stores’ all across the nation. You can buy them in metallic style, with fun Christmas patterns, or in a plain color that can be decorated with stickers.
Colorful bottle wrap
You can also find colorful cellophane bags that are great for wrapping odd sized gifts like this. These neat bags can be purchased at bulk paper warehouse stores where you can purchase gift cards, wrapping paper, cards, and other party supplies. If you want to hide the contents of the bag or just make it a prettier presentation, a complimenting tissue paper underneath and then tied off at the top with ribbon or raffia makes the present seem more complete.
Wine bottle cozy
If you are excellent at crafts, you could make a nice fabric gift bag or knit a reusable bottle cozy as an alternative wrapping for you bottle of wine gift. Bottle cozy’s can dress up the bottle on your friend’s side board and then be slid over a new bottle when the gift bottle was finished. Fabric gift bags can be used later to store little items or as a carry all for when your friends and family go away to the beach or other places.
Bottle ribbon
Even if you don’t want to go through the effort of a long drawn out wrapping process, you can use metallic Christmas wire to wrap around the bottle or curling ribbon draped down the side. Even strips of wrapping paper attached to a piece of wire as streamers make the bottle look festive. No matter what you choose, you don’t have to try to figure out how to get the bottle wrapped with wrapping paper…and an entire roll of tape.
