Christmas Presents for Dad
When selecting a Christmas present for Dad, it helps to choose a gift either for the father or the guy in him.
When searching for a Christmas gift for Dad, many people forget that aside from being a father, their dad is also a guy. Of course, finding and buying that perfect present is much easier with a good idea of what he likes and is currently interested in. For many people though, selecting Christmas presents can be overwhelming what with all the items available and all the people in the shops. Sometimes it helps to look at different aspects of a person and choose a gift that corresponds to that side of him.
Gifts for the father in him
When appealing to a man’s sense of fatherhood, gifts are easiest to choose when they either reminisce memories of family or generate new memories by being something that the family can enjoy together. Giving Dad a collage of photos or framed mementos from past trips always works well. A digital photo album to display on the side table is great especially when pre-loaded with family photos. He might also enjoy a laptop with pre-installed photo and video editing software so he can make his own memory collages.
Another avenue to look into is giving a trip or outing as a gift for the whole family. This doesn’t need to be lavish. Consider a family hiking trip or a trip to the amusement park and take lots of new pictures.
Gifts for the guy in him
The males of the species tend to like tinkering with gadgets and going to sports arenas. Why not give Dad some new electronic for Christmas? He may like a talking pedometer to keep him company on his morning jogs or a new telescope for checking out that bright spot in the sky. To help with his tinkering, how about a multi-tool pen that has screwdrivers, tweezers and a knife blade hidden in the pen barrel? This way, he’ll never be without his tools!
To appeal to the sports buff in him, Dad would probably appreciate season tickets to his favorite team’s games. Even better, make a gift of your time. Buy him 2 tickets and promise to go to the games with him. Other ideas are a signed ball by his favorite player or a personalized team jersey.
Being a father and being a guy are just two aspects of this wonderful person we call Dad. There are many other sides to him that would bring other interesting gift ideas to mind, but the above covers the basics.
