A Saviour’s Birthday
Christmas is the preparation and celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.
It is the wonderful time of the year when people are reminded of all the blessings that they’ve received in the years past and the ones that they will receive in the years to come.

to us a son is given,

Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,

Isaiah 9:6
The birth of a king
As most people know, Jesus was born on Christmas Eve. Christians celebrate his birth since it signifies the start of man’s redemption. It is the season of loving, giving, merriment and fellowship. But, during this time, people often forget the true essence of Christmas which is the celebration of the birth of the king of all kings. Contrary to what the modern time believes, this doesn’t mean that people should only pray and forget all the fun and partying.
Everyone can still celebrate have fun and enjoy the festivities. It’s just a reminder that, as people rush around to gather gifts and prepare for the parties they must not forget to offer a prayer or mass for the saviour’s birthday. No matter how short or no matter where it is said, a prayer from the heart will always be welcomed by the saviour. It’s kind of like receiving gifts on birthdays when it’s always the thought that counts. No matter how simple, the point is that they didn’t forget.
The spirit of giving
Gift giving is one of the more popular highlights of Christmas. It is a given fact that when people talk about Christmas the first thought that comes to mind are the boxes under the tree. But during Christmas, giving takes on a more special meaning than receiving. This spirit of sharing must be kept in everyone’s hearts, just like how God the father bestowed upon all of His people His numerous blessings. The holiday is a chance for everyone to reach out not only to their loved ones but, also to those who truly need a helping hand and give them hope.
Jesus in our hearts
In the modern society now, it is very easy for people to forget the original story of Christmas. Children know more about Santa and his reindeers than the king who was born in the manger. In a true Christian Christmas, Jesus is kept in everyone’s hearts. No matter how busy or how troubling preparations get, Christians should never forget to offer the baby Jesus a birthday prayer and thank him for all the blessings that he has bestowed upon every person. Be merry, be happy, feast with your loved ones but, never forget to keep Jesus in your hearts during his special day.
A special holiday
Christmas is truly a special holiday. It gives everyone a chance to celebrate the birth of the wonderful saviour and also, gives us all hope and a chance to be able to share our blessings to those who also need them. Keep in mind the true essence of Christmas and the special spirit of giving. Hearts should be opened for Jesus the saviour and the wellbeing of everyone this coming holiday. Merry Christmas!
