Charity at Christmas Time

Over Christmas, there are many organizations willing to help those in need. Finding one is only a matter of knowing where to look.

Christmas is a merry time where people celebrate with the loved ones in their lives. Although this festive season is meant to be an exciting and beautiful time, for many people it is a difficult and trying time for many reasons. Not only is finance a problem for millions of people around the world, many cannot even afford to feed their families.

Over the festive season, many people are not aware that there are others who are struggling to feed their families and that many children will not be receiving any gifts for Christmas.

There are organizations that are able to provide help to these families. Help including food, clothing and possibly a small gift for the children of these struggling families.

Organizations that Help Struggling Families over Christmas

Depending on your local town or city, there are many organizations that have been working the whole year to help people during the festive season. They collect clothing and food supplies throughout the year and distribute them during Christmas to help lighten the burden of this trying time.
Finding organizations in your area may not be as difficult as you thought. Reading a local newspaper and checking the library for events that are listed is a good way to find out where you can receive help.

Toys for Tots

This organization collects toys throughout the months preceding Christmas and they distribute the toys to the communities in which the campaigns are being conducted. This charity helps families who cannot afford to provide their little ones with a gift this festive season. It is greatly appreciated by all those children who believe they will not be receiving a gift this Christmas.

Their aim is to provide hope to the children, inspiring them to better their lives once they grow up. It also promotes community interest and displays their dedication and willingness to help those in need.

The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army provides an array of services aimed at helping the less fortunate not only during the festive season but also throughout the year. They collect food and clothing to distribute among the poor but this is not the only service they provide.

They are dedicated to improving the quality of life to those less fortunate and this includes educating those who cannot afford it.

One of their services includes tracing lost relatives in order to restore families whose loved one has gone missing. They provide these services either to restore the lost member to the family, or sometimes to provide information for the family that the individual is still alive and not intending to return.

My daughter is 14 my son is six and we are on the verge of losing our home. I have been in this house for the past 12 years and never had it so bad.
